Try it right now
Pull up your business's website on your phone. Don't scroll. Don't tap anything. Can a stranger answer these three questions?
- Where do you serve? Your town, your county, or "remote nationwide." Visitors want to know right away whether you're for them.
- When are you open? Hours, or at least how quickly you respond. A missing answer reads as "maybe closed."
- How do I reach you? A phone number you can tap, an email, or a clear booking button.
Be honest. If you had to scroll or squint, your customers did too.
What we found on our own homepage
We ran the same test on axdsystems.com. Some things worked: our service area sits right in the hero, and the Get a Quote button is always in reach. Some things were missing, and we've been fixing them since. The point isn't to be perfect. It's to remove friction for the people who are already ready to call or book.
The common misses
- A service area buried in the footer or the About page.
- Hours that only live on Google, not on the site.
- A phone number that's an image, so it can't be tapped.
- A contact form as the only way to reach you.
